Wailea Golf Plan dispute

The Wailea Community Association general manager said the WCA supports the South Maui Plan overall but asked the committee to substitute a revised Wailea Golf plan, developed with the landowner, that keeps two courses and allows development on the Emerald Course.

A Keala o Wailea board member backed the revised Wailea Golf plan but opposed any development on the Blue Course, and urged the committee not to advance the earlier owner proposal in the draft plan.

A Keala o Wailea resident said he'd prefer no development at all but accepts the WCA compromise, warning that the owner's plan could leave Wailea with one or zero public golf courses.
